Private Equity Associate

Overview
A confidential, Ohio-based private investment firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team. This Associate will play a key role across the full investment lifecycle, including deal evaluation, transaction execution, and portfolio company support within the middle market.
This role offers direct exposure to senior investment professionals and company management teams and is well suited for an Associate seeking meaningful responsibility and long-term growth in private equity. The Associate will contribute to underwriting investments, leading workstreams during transactions, and supporting value creation initiatives across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and maintenance of detailed financial models, including operating models, LBOs, and return analyses
• Conduct in-depth industry, market, and company research to inform investment decisions
• Take ownership of key diligence workstreams across financial, commercial, and operational due diligence
• Prepare and present investment committee materials, including investment memoranda and presentation decks
• Support and help drive transaction execution, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors
• Work closely with management teams to monitor portfolio company performance and support strategic initiatives
• Assist in evaluating and executing add-on acquisitions and other value creation opportunities
• Contribute to business development efforts through market mapping, sourcing support, and relationship tracking
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or a related field
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skillset, with prior transaction experience preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
